For nearly 50 years, Serenity Lane, with locations throughout Oregon, including the outpatient facility on the west side of Portland, has provided unique and comprehensive care for those facing substance use disorder in our community.

Serenity Lane, founded in 1973, provides evidence-based addiction and substance use treatment and acts as a leader in the field. We take an individualized approach to treatment by tailoring the program to each person's needs.

Our outpatient facility in Portland, Oregon, provides multiple levels of care to assist people from all different backgrounds and levels of addiction.

Pioneers in Addiction Treatment

At Serenity Lane Portland West, we pridefully offer a wide range of outpatient services designed to meet the needs of working professionals, families, and individuals in need of substance use disorder treatment. Along with the Portland East office, we offer Level I outpatient and Level II intensive outpatient programming, DUII services, free assessments with care planning, and family programming.

Serenity Lane was founded by Dr. Thomas A. Kerns in 1973 as a private, non-profit treatment center for addiction and substance use issues. We are licensed as a specialty hospital treating addiction, and all programs are accredited by CARF (the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities).

Outpatient Services Second to None

At Serenity Lane Portland West, treatment in an outpatient setting will come in either Level I care or Level II care.

The Level II intensive outpatient treatment program is a ten-week program that includes group therapy, one-on-one counseling, and addiction education. Treatment groups meet three times a week for three hours per session. Telehealth options are also available for this program.

In the Level I outpatient program, patients meet once per week for 60-90 minutes in group counseling with a focus on learning how to identify and manage stressful life events, and how to cope with the inevitable ups and downs of early recovery.
